
NORTH CAROLINA — Raleigh police say a pedestrian was killed late Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 40 East.
According to authorities, the crash happened just before 11 p.m. near the Interstate 440 interchange. The pedestrian was identified as 35-year-old Arun K. Sandram. Police said Sandram had exited his vehicle and was on the roadway when he was hit by a passing car.
The driver of the vehicle involved was not seriously injured, police said.
No charges have been filed at this time as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
