
MARYLAND — A man is dead following a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning on Branch Avenue in Camp Springs, and police are actively searching for the driver responsible.
Prince George’s County police were called to the area near the Passport Toyota dealership around 3:30 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigators determined that the driver who struck the man fled the scene.
No description of the vehicle has been made public.
Northbound Branch Avenue was temporarily closed at Auth Way during the investigation but has since reopened.
Police remained on the scene reviewing surveillance footage, collecting evidence, and speaking with potential witnesses.
