KENTUCKY — A 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in Somerset, authorities reported.
The Somerset Fire Department said crews were called to the 1500 block of South U.S. 27 around 10 p.m. for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash. Northbound lanes were temporarily closed while emergency personnel worked the scene.
The Pulaski County coroner said the victim had credit cards with him but no wallet or identification. Investigators are still working to confirm his identity.
The man was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body will undergo an autopsy.
The Somerset Police Department and Kentucky State Police are investigating the crash.
