KENTUCKY — The Florence Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday night on Turfway Road.
Officers responded to the area just west of Drexel Avenue at 7:56 p.m., where a car had struck a pedestrian crossing the street. The pedestrian, identified as 53-year-old Edith Obeng, was transported to St. Elizabeth Florence, where she later died from her injuries.
Police said the driver was not injured and remained at the scene.
Authorities do not expect criminal charges to be filed against the driver.
The Florence Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
