KENTUCKY — A woman from Ohio was killed Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on the Pennyrile Parkway, according to Kentucky State Police.
The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. near the 22-mile marker.
Investigators say 32-year-old Krystin M. Bowling of Massillon, Ohio, was outside her vehicle securing luggage when a Toyota Prius veered off the roadway and struck both her and her car.
The driver of the Prius was identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey B. Calhoun of Madisonville. Authorities said it is still unclear why his vehicle left the road.
Bowling was pronounced dead at the scene. No details about Calhoun’s condition have been released.
The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
