KENTUCKY — A man has died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening in Campbell County, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. in the 5400 block of Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring.
According to the Hamilton County coroner, the victim was identified Friday as 42-year-old Ivan Chandler.
Campbell County Dispatch confirmed the crash occurred Thursday night but did not release details about what led up to the incident or the extent of the victim’s injuries at the time.
Police at the scene said they were in contact with the driver involved in the crash.
The incident occurred near a busy shopping center, and the nearby intersection remained closed for several hours while officers investigated the scene.
Neighbors in the area said the lack of pedestrian infrastructure has been a concern. Some residents noted that there are limited places for pedestrians to safely walk along the roadway.
