KENTUCKY — A woman was struck and killed Tuesday morning near Fern Creek after becoming involved in a minor traffic crash, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Police said officers were called around 7:30 a.m. to the intersection of Bardstown Road and Watterson Trail after a collision that was initially reported as a non-injury crash.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the female driver involved in the first crash had exited her vehicle and was then hit by another vehicle passing through the area.
The woman was transported from the scene by ambulance but later died at a hospital. Her name has not been released pending notification of family.
Police said no criminal charges are expected in connection with the incident. The Louisville Metro Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
