One person dead after being struck by vehicle in Indiana

INDIANA — A man is dead after being struck in a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning on the southwest side of the city.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded around 11:09 a.m. to reports of a personal injury accident at Denison Street and West Troy Avenue.

When they arrived, officers found an adult male who had been hit by at least one vehicle. He was taken by Indianapolis Emergency Services to a local hospital, where he later died.

Police said the driver did not remain at the scene and is believed to have fled on foot. IMPD investigators remain on-site gathering evidence and are urging anyone with information to contact authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
