GEORGIA — The Georgia State Patrol is investigating after a young child was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning while waiting for a school bus.
The incident happened around 6:39 a.m. on White Hill Road, according to officials. Troopers said the child, a 5-year-old girl, was at her bus stop when she suddenly ran into the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
She was transported to Optim Medical Center in Sylvania, where she died from her injuries.
The Georgia State Patrol said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
