GEORGIA — A pedestrian was killed late Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in Savannah, authorities said.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that the Chatham County Police Department requested assistance for a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on State Route 25 at Gamble Road around 11:40 p.m.
Officials said the pedestrian was walking west to east in the northbound lanes in an unlit area outside of a crosswalk when they were struck by a northbound white Chevrolet Malibu traveling in the left lane. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation.
