
GEORGIA — A 14-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night in the area of Glade and Ferguson, according to the Chatham County Police Department.
Police said the incident occurred around 7 p.m. while the teenager was riding an electric bike. Investigators reported that the boy was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said they do not currently have a description of the vehicle involved. Detectives are using forensic investigative techniques in an effort to identify the suspect vehicle and determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The Chatham County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation. Police are requesting that residents in the area review any available home surveillance or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the incident or a vehicle leaving the area around the time of the crash.
