FLORIDA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by multiple vehicles while crossing U.S. Highway 92 east of Calle Alto Vista, authorities reported.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking north across the westbound lanes outside a marked crosswalk when an unknown vehicle initially struck them with its left side mirror, causing them to fall. Several other vehicles then struck the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle that first hit the pedestrian, along with the other cars involved, fled west on U.S. Highway 92.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at *347 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
