TENNESSEE — A 37-year-old woman died Friday evening after being hit by a train on Hickory Hollow Parkway, authorities said.
The Metro Nashville Police Department responded to the scene around 5:40 p.m., between Bell Road and Una Antioch Pike.
Officials said the train conductor reported seeing two people sleeping on the tracks. A man attempted to pull the woman from the tracks but was unsuccessful. Despite applying the brakes, the train could not stop in time.
The woman was found deceased near the tracks, while the man left the scene before officers arrived.
Police are working to notify the woman’s family. No further details have been released.
