TENNESSEE — A person is dead after being struck by a train early Thursday morning just south of downtown Nashville.
Metro police said the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the 1400 block of Third Avenue South.
A CSX train hit the individual, who died from their injuries. The body was found along the tracks next to a commercial parking lot.
The Medical Examiner responded to the scene to collect the body, and investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision.
No further information has been released at this time.
