NORTH CAROLINA — A man is hospitalized in critical condition after his car collided with a train Thursday morning in downtown Laurinburg.
The accident occurred on Biggs Street near the Scotland County Courthouse, according to Scotland County Emergency Management Director Robert Sampson. The man is receiving treatment at a trauma center.
CSX is investigating the cause of the collision.
Sampson said three nearby railroad crossings are blocked by the train and will remain closed until the investigation is complete.
