One person dead after being struck by train in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI — A 36-year-old man was struck and killed by a train Friday in Jackson, authorities said.

Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed the victim was a Black man.

The train involved was operated by the Canadian National Railway. The incident occurred at the intersection of Livingston Road and Ridgeway Street.

The Jackson Police Department is investigating the incident. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
