
MARYLAND — A man was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a train at the Shot Tower station in downtown Baltimore.
Officials with the Baltimore City Fire Department said the man was hit by a Maryland Transit Administration train and became trapped following the incident.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and were able to extricate the man. First responders then attempted life-saving medical treatment, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities temporarily suspended train service in the area following the incident while crews responded and investigators began examining what happened.
The incident remains under investigation.
