TEXAS — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles Monday night on the North Freeway in north Houston, according to authorities.
Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 9 p.m. to an auto-pedestrian crash in the northbound lanes of the North Freeway near Rankin Road and Greens Road in the Greenspoint area.
Investigators said a man was hit by at least three vehicles while attempting to cross the freeway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that all three vehicles involved stopped after the crash.
Officials said it does not appear that speed or alcohol were factors.
The victim has not been identified, and investigators have not confirmed whether additional vehicles may have been involved.
The incident remains under investigation.
