OHIO — A 63-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning after being struck by several vehicles and dragged nearly a mile in the city’s Stockyards neighborhood.
According to Cleveland Police, Todd Howard of Parma Heights was walking north across Denison Avenue in the crosswalk at Ridge Road around 5:25 a.m. when he was hit by a westbound vehicle that had a green light.
Police said Howard was crossing against a red signal.
After the initial impact, Howard was struck by two additional vehicles. None of the drivers stopped.
A fourth vehicle then hit Howard and unknowingly dragged him nearly a mile to the intersection of West Boulevard and Lorain Avenue.
The driver eventually discovered the victim and stopped the vehicle, police said.
Howard was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
