NORTH CAROLINA — A man from Atlanta died Friday morning after being pulled from the ocean at Nags Head.
Around 10:15 a.m., Nags Head Fire and Rescue responded to the Glidden public beach access after receiving reports of a swimmer in distress.
Volunteers had pulled the man from the water before first responders arrived. He was transported to The Outer Banks Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials said it is unclear if rip currents played a role in the incident. The man’s name has not yet been released.
