ALABAMA — An 11-year-old child has died after being found unresponsive in a vehicle at Hermitage Place Apartments in Florence on Monday afternoon.
Florence Police said the child was discovered inside a parked vehicle outside the family’s home. Employees of the apartment complex began lifesaving measures before emergency services arrived. The child was transported to North Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The child, who was enrolled in the Florence City School System, has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy. Florence schools said additional counselors will be available to support students.
