
NORTH CAROLINA — A 52-year-old Mount Olive man has been arrested on multiple methamphetamine trafficking charges following a narcotics investigation in Duplin County.
According to the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, the Special Operations Division concluded its investigation into Nathan Lee Cotton on Feb. 12, resulting in his arrest on numerous felony drug charges.
Cotton is charged with two counts each of manufacturing, selling and delivering a Schedule II controlled substance.
He also faces two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, eight counts of trafficking methamphetamine and four counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance. In addition, he is charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities said Cotton was taken into custody and placed in the Duplin County Jail under a $300,000 secured bond.
Duplin County Sheriff Stratton Stokes commended the Special Operations Division for its work on the case and efforts to remove illegal narcotics from the community.
