OHIO — A Honduran man with a history of deportations has been arrested in Campbell and charged with illegal re-entry into the United States, according to federal court documents.
Dino De Laurentis Rivera-Lopez, 43, also known as Jorge Palmero Rivera Lopez, was taken into custody on March 11 after appearing in Campbell Municipal Court for a minor citation, according to an affidavit filed by Homeland Security Investigations.
The affidavit outlines Rivera-Lopez’s history of deportations and illegal re-entries dating back to 2000.
An immigration judge first ordered his removal from the U.S. in February 2000 after he entered the country near Laredo, Texas, in October 1999.
He was later deported but re-entered the U.S. multiple times, including in March 2000, January 2019, and most recently before his March 2025 arrest. He was deported again in 2018 and 2020.
Authorities say Rivera-Lopez came to their attention on March 7 when Campbell Police cited him for failing to keep his dog on a leash, requiring him to appear in municipal court.
According to the affidavit, Rivera-Lopez admitted to being deported three times and acknowledged he did not have permission to re-enter the United States.
He is now charged with violating federal law prohibiting re-entry after deportation. Rivera-Lopez remains in the Mahoning County Jail as he awaits a hearing in U.S. District Court.
