One person arrested in Ohio for murder of grandmother

OHIO — The U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested 23-year-old Amin Walker today.

Walker was wanted by the Cleveland Heights Police Department for aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month.

According to the Cleveland Heights Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 3500 block of Randolph Road around 3:00 a.m. on January 4, 2025.

Upon arrival, they discovered 74-year-old Edith Moore with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old man was also found with a gunshot wound to the leg, though his injuries were non-life-threatening.

Walker and a 16-year-old boy were identified as suspects in the shooting, leading to warrants for their arrests.

Cleveland Heights police previously arrested the 16-year-old suspect, while Walker remained at large until today.

NOVFTF members located and arrested him at a residence in the 1000 block of E. 77th Street in Cleveland.

“This violent fugitive posed a threat to our community and our officers worked relentlessly over the past several days to arrest him and take him off the street,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “The Cleveland Heights Police Department deserves credit for their great work in identifying the suspects in this case and assisting our task force with the arrest.”
