OHIO — A Circleville man is facing multiple charges after a series of disorderly conduct complaints culminated in the suspected use of methamphetamine inside a police cruiser, authorities said.
Logan Jones was arrested Tuesday evening following two separate incidents reported to Circleville police.
The first occurred around 5:52 p.m. on April 16 at 520 E. Main Street, where Officer RJ Martin responded to a well-being check and warned a man—believed to be Jones—about disorderly conduct.
Later, at 8:12 p.m., police received another report of a man in a pink sweatshirt with face tattoos allegedly yelling at and following a woman near Pontious Lane.
Officer Martin located Jones walking along Lancaster Pike and stopped him at Fairview Avenue.
Jones denied involvement, saying he had been dropped off to visit his girlfriend, but his statements reportedly became inconsistent, leading to his arrest for persistent disorderly conduct.
According to police, Jones resisted slightly by tensing up during the arrest but was taken into custody without further incident.
During the transport to jail, Officer Martin noticed Jones making suspicious movements in the back seat. Jones claimed he was taking medication from his pocket.
Upon arrival at the jail, Officer Martin observed Jones tossing an object onto the cruiser’s floorboard.
White powder was then seen on the door, seat, and on Jones’s nose—substances that were not present before his arrest. A field test confirmed the powder was methamphetamine.
Further review of cruiser and body camera footage allegedly showed Jones removing a folded piece of paper from his pocket and snorting the substance off the cruiser’s door handle.
Police also believe he ingested some of the powder orally. The paper was collected as evidence and tested positive for crystalline residue.
Police say Jones has had prior encounters with law enforcement, including incidents where he was reportedly walking into traffic and behaving erratically in public—actions he allegedly claimed were for publicity for his rap career.
