SOUTH CAROLINA — A man has been arrested after investigators linked him to multiple incidents of illegal tire dumping in Darlington County.

According to deputies, investigators determined that large amounts of tires were illegally dumped at two separate locations in the Darlington area over the past several months.

Authorities said the first incident occurred between Dec. 1, 2025, and Jan. 6, 2026. During that time, a person allegedly used a yellow box truck to collect large quantities of tires before dumping them on a property located off Davis Street.

Deputies reported a second incident took place on Feb. 3, 2026, when additional tires were picked up and illegally dumped at the end of Partnership Drive in the Darlington area.

Following an investigation, deputies identified Jeremy Windham as the individual responsible for the dumping.

Windham was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of littering exceeding 500 pounds, according to authorities.

Deputies said Windham is currently being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

The investigation remains active, and officials said additional charges could be filed.
