One person arrested in connection to Virginia grocery store robbery

VIRGINIA — Police have arrested a 22-year-old Front Royal man in connection with the armed robbery of Robinson’s Grocery that occurred on April 15, 2025.

According to the Front Royal Police Department, a masked suspect entered Robinson’s Grocery on East 6th Street that evening, demanded money from the cashier, and discharged a single round from a firearm before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Following an investigation, detectives identified and arrested David Aaron Deavers, 22, of Front Royal.

Deavers faces several charges related to the incident, including robbery, discharging a firearm within or at a dwelling, reckless handling of a firearm, use or display of a firearm in committing a felony, and brandishing a firearm.

He is also charged with possession of a firearm following an assault and battery of a family or household member.

Deavers was taken into custody and booked at RSW Regional Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
