KENTUCKY — A man has been arrested following a series of storage unit break-ins along Menards Street, police said.

Bowling Green Police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Denver C. Hedges, who was taken into custody early Wednesday after an investigation that began Tuesday. Officers responded to 1945 Menards Street, where they found 14 storage units with padlocks cut and multiple items missing.

Surveillance footage showed a white male, later identified as Hedges, dressed in black clothing and a black mask, using bolt cutters to break into the units. His vehicle was also captured at the scene. A witness confirmed seeing Hedges cutting locks and removing property.

When confronted at his home, Hedges reportedly gave conflicting statements, at first denying he had been at the facility, then saying someone borrowed his car, and later claiming he was helping a friend move items. A search of his vehicle uncovered bolt cutters with markings matching the damaged locks, investigators said.

Hedges is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail and faces 14 counts of third-degree burglary, as well as first-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools.
