OHIO — A Bellefontaine woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly stabbing her husband at a home on West Columbus Avenue.
Police and EMS responded to the 600 block of West Columbus Avenue just before 3 p.m. after receiving reports of a man bleeding on the kitchen floor.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim sitting on a mobility scooter with an injury to his backside.
The victim identified his wife, Audrey Gibson, 29, as the attacker. She was taken into custody and transported to the Bellefontaine Police Department for questioning.
While being handcuffed, Gibson reportedly stated multiple times that she did not mean to hurt the victim and was concerned about protecting the couple’s dogs.
Bellefontaine EMS transported the victim to Mary Rutan Hospital before he was later transferred to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for further treatment.
Gibson was lodged in the Logan County Jail on a charge of felonious assault. Authorities also noted she has a prior conviction for felonious domestic violence.
