KENTUCKY — Tyner man was arrested Saturday after deputies say he made false emergency reports that led to a police response.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff arrested Douglas Sparks on Sept. 6 along Highway 1431, about 10 miles southeast of town.
Sparks had called 911 claiming he had been stabbed and that his family was abducted during a home invasion.
When deputies arrived, Sparks admitted that no one had been assaulted or abducted. He was taken into custody and charged with making a false report that generated an emergency response, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and two additional counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Sparks is being held at the Jackson County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation.
