One person arrested for passing bad checks in Ohio

OHIO — A Troy man has been indicted on charges related to passing bad checks totaling nearly $6,600.

Anthony Scott, 44, was formally charged in Mercer County Court of Common Pleas with one count of theft and one count of passing bad checks, according to court records filed on March 20.

The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in December 2024.

Scott was booked into the Miami County Jail on March 30 on an out-of-county warrant. He was later released after posting a $7,000 bond.

Scott appeared in court on April 1 and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is scheduled to return to court on April 30.
