INDIANA — A man has been arrested for murder following a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning in southwest Fort Wayne.
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded around 2 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 7200 block of Lakeridge Drive at the Willow Creek Crossing Apartments, near Airport Expressway and Lower Huntington Road.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local trauma hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Homicide detectives arrested 25-year-old Alaye Hanson, who is facing a preliminary charge of murder.
Few details have been released about what led up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the FWPD Homicide Unit, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
