MICHIGAN — A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly holding a woman captive for a week and sexually assaulting her, authorities said.
Michigan State Police reported that on Saturday, Aug. 30, they received a report from a 21-year-old woman who said she had been sexually assaulted.
Investigators said the suspect, identified as William Paul Thompson, held the woman in a tent and used a weapon to threaten her and force sexual acts.
The woman eventually escaped and provided police with a description of Thompson and his location. Troopers arrested him and charged him with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, unlawful imprisonment, and multiple weapons violations.
Thompson was arraigned on Tuesday.
