TENNESSEE — A Piney Flats man is facing multiple charges following a head-on crash that left two people injured Tuesday evening, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. in the 700 block of South Pickens Bridge Road.
Investigators say 29-year-old Cody Clark turned left from Lake Meadow Drive onto South Pickens Bridge Road, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head-on. A witness reported that Clark failed to stop at a stop sign before making the turn.
Both victims were transported from the scene for treatment. Authorities also reported finding a loaded handgun in the passenger seat of Clark’s vehicle.
Clark was charged with driving under the influence (second offense), driving left of center, possession of a handgun while under the influence, reckless endangerment and failure to stop at a stop sign.
After being evaluated at a hospital, Clark was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond. Officials said he has since posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
