OHIO — A 42-year-old man was arrested Monday after allegedly entering a home on East Main Street in Saint Paris and being confronted by the homeowner.
According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched after receiving a report of a burglary in progress.
The suspect, identified as Lucas Hatfield of Sidney, reportedly entered the residence and encountered the homeowner in her kitchen.
The homeowner asked Hatfield what he was doing in her kitchen. Hatfield, reportedly stuttering, asked if she needed lawn care services.
When the homeowner declined, he fled the scene on a moped.
Deputies responded quickly and located Hatfield within minutes on East Lawn Street. He was arrested for burglary and transported to the Tri-County Jail.
