NORTH CAROLINA — A teenager was arrested Friday for carrying a gun at a high school football game, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Authorities said a School Resource Officer confirmed that the teen had brought a firearm to the game at Erwin High School.
The teen was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds. They were then turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Captain Chris Stockton praised the swift action, saying the arrest highlights the strong partnership between School Resource Officers and school administrations in maintaining safety.
