KENTUCKY — A man faces multiple charges after intentionally starting a house fire Thursday evening, authorities say.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Russellville Rural Fire Department responded around 6:30 p.m. to a structure fire at 199 Hancock Lake Road.
An investigation revealed that 58-year-old Rodney Belcher of Russellville used a torch to deliberately ignite fires in several locations inside the home. Two people were inside the residence at the time.
Deputies later found Belcher at his home and arrested him without incident.
He is charged with first-degree arson, two counts of attempted murder, criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and drug-related offenses.
Belcher is being held at the Logan County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday, June 30, at 1 p.m.
