
FLORIDA — An early-morning standoff in Escambia County ended with a suspect in custody, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and the SWAT team responded to the area of Pace Boulevard and Belmont Street after receiving reports of a barricaded individual with violent felony warrants.
Authorities said the situation prompted a large law enforcement presence, and residents in the area were advised to remain indoors while drivers were urged to avoid the area.
After several hours, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident, officials said.
Video released by the sheriff’s office shows officers escorting the suspect out of a residence.
The sheriff’s office said the suspect’s name and additional details are expected to be released later.
The investigation remains ongoing.
