PENNSYLVANIA — A report of shots fired at police led to a SWAT situation in McDonald, Allegheny County, on Monday night.
Police said the incident began shortly after 7:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Fairmont Street when officers responded to a call about a man in distress.
When they arrived, the man reportedly shouted obscenities at officers before retreating into his home. He then came back outside and fired multiple rounds.
Several police vehicles and other cars were struck, but no injuries were reported. The man then barricaded himself inside the residence.
The SWAT team was called to the scene at about 9:50 p.m. After nearly two hours, the man surrendered peacefully around 11:10 p.m.
Authorities said they will consult with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office to determine charges.
