
OHIO — A standoff on Cleveland’s West Side early Tuesday morning ended with a man in police custody after lasting several hours.
According to Cleveland Police Department, officers and the department’s SWAT team were called to a home near the intersection of Dearborn Avenue and West 73rd Street around 5:30 a.m. for a reported domestic situation. The area is located in the city’s West Boulevard neighborhood.
Police said the man inside the home refused to come outside and was observed yelling at officers from a porch while authorities attempted to negotiate with him.
Just before 9 a.m., officers entered the residence and took the man into custody without further incident. He was removed from the home in handcuffs. His name has not been released.
Police said a woman and a child who were inside the home were able to escape safely during the standoff. No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional details were not immediately available.
