OHIO — A man was taken into custody Sunday morning following a police chase and hours-long search in Clark County, authorities confirmed.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. when a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driving erratically in a parking lot in the 1000 block of North Bechtle Avenue.
According to a sheriff’s office sergeant, two men jumped out of the vehicle and fled into a nearby wooded area.
Investigators later discovered the car had been reported stolen from Springfield. The driver was also found to have an active arrest warrant, though the nature of the warrant has not been disclosed.
Authorities eventually located and arrested the suspected driver in the area of Eagle City Road and North Bechtle Avenue. His identity and potential charges have not yet been released.
The second male who fled the scene has not been found.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Springfield Police assisted in the search, which was suspended before noon.
