TENNESSEE — A man was taken into custody early Friday morning after barricading himself inside a Clarksville home with his children during a domestic-related incident.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded to 680 Pat Drive around 2:20 a.m. and established a perimeter around the home.
The incident began as a domestic situation, and the man’s spouse was able to safely leave the residence before officers arrived.
Police used a loudspeaker to communicate with the man and attempted to negotiate.
Around 8:20 a.m., the man released the children unharmed and then exited the home, where he was taken into custody without further incident.
He has been charged with aggravated domestic assault. Authorities did not specify how many children were involved.
Residents in the area were asked to stay indoors during the incident, and a portion of Pat Drive was closed to traffic.
No further information has been released at this time.
