KENTUCKY — A man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly firing multiple shots at responding officers during a standoff in Bardstown, according to the Bardstown Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. to the 100 block of Evergreen Court, near the American Fuji Seal plant, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers encountered 43-year-old Travis Bowman, who was armed and quickly barricaded himself inside a residence.
Police say Bowman began firing multiple rounds at officers, prompting a call for assistance from the Kentucky State Police (KSP). The standoff lasted nearly five hours, during which Bowman continued to fire random shots at law enforcement.
Bowman was eventually taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Nelson County Correctional Center. He is facing charges of attempted murder of a peace officer and wanton endangerment of a police officer.
The incident remains under investigation by KSP. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Kentucky State Police Post 4.
