PENNSYLVANIA — A man is in custody after state police say he exchanged gunfire with troopers during a warrant service Tuesday night near the Centre/Clinton county line.

The incident began around 9 p.m. when troopers attempted to serve a felony warrant at the man’s residence in Bald Eagle Township. According to investigators, the man opened fire before fleeing in a vehicle along Route 150.

Police said the pursuit ended in the Lykens parking lot in Beech Creek Borough, where the man allegedly fired another shot at troopers. Officers returned fire and were able to take him into custody.

The suspect sustained a non-life-threatening injury, while no troopers or bystanders were hurt.

Authorities said all troopers involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure. The investigation into the shootout remains ongoing.
