KENTUCKY — A 28-year-old Oak Grove man was arrested Sunday following a reported shooting that left another man injured, according to the Oak Grove Police Department.

Police said dispatch received a call at approximately 11:38 a.m. reporting a shooting and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the scene, where the victim told police he had been shot in the leg during an argument over money.

Investigators identified the suspect as Hakim Bowles, 28, of Oak Grove. Police said Bowles fled the area before officers arrived.

Law enforcement began searching for Bowles and later located him hiding near a community center. With assistance from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, officers took Bowles into custody without incident.

Bowles was transported to the Christian County Jail. He is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The victim’s condition was not immediately released. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
