INDIANA — A teenage suspect was taken into custody Thursday morning after police responded to reports of gunfire in a Richmond neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched around 10:30 a.m. to the 200 block of North 17th Street following reports of shots fired, according to the Richmond Police Department.
When officers arrived, they secured the area and found evidence confirming that gunshots had been fired. Police were then advised that individuals and vehicles possibly connected to the incident were located in the 1st block of South 16th Street.
Additional officers detained several people believed to be involved, and the investigation led to the arrest of a teenage juvenile on charges of criminal recklessness and other gun-related offenses.
The incident remains under investigation by the Richmond Police Department.
