One person arrested following shooting incident in Georgia

GEORGIA — The Long County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in Ludowici and left one man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a report of a shooting around 1:40 a.m. on July 11 at 187 West Cypress Street.

With assistance from the Ludowici Police Department, deputies arrived at the scene and found an adult male lying in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 84, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies provided emergency medical aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation by the Long County Criminal Investigations Division, an arrest warrant was issued for Tshombe Leon Williams, 38, on a charge of aggravated assault. Williams was later taken into custody without incident at his home by the Long County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team.
