OHIO — A Grabill man is in custody following a police pursuit that began in Ohio and ended in Indiana on Monday afternoon.
Joseph Grubb, 36, was arrested in Allen County after leading authorities on a chase through Hicksville, Ohio, and into his hometown of Grabill.
The incident began when Hicksville police responded to a report of Grubb threatening to break down a woman’s door at 651 West High Street.
Grubb, who was wanted in Defiance County on two felony warrants, fled the property before officers arrived.
Police located Grubb at Hicksville Park, but he evaded initial attempts to stop him.
The pursuit then moved west on State Route 2, crossing into Indiana and continuing through Harlan before reaching Grabill.
Authorities deployed stop sticks at Roth and Grabill roads, but Grubb avoided them.
The chase continued through downtown Grabill, weaving through a parking lot, an alley, and a yard near State and Henry streets.
Grubb eventually stopped his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers.
He is currently being held at the Allen County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Ohio, where he faces two warrants and additional felony charges related to the chase.
