PENNSYLVANIA — A New Jersey man is in custody following a high-speed pursuit involving state police in Blair County on Monday morning.

According to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were alerted shortly before 8 a.m. to a vehicle driving erratically on Interstate 99 in Greenfield Township. The vehicle eventually stopped on the shoulder of the highway. When a trooper arrived, police said the driver fled the scene in the vehicle.

The driver was identified as 26-year-old Tadeo Arza Arce of Chester, New Jersey. Authorities said Arza Arce continued southbound on I-99, weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds while being pursued by a trooper.

State police said the pursuit ended when troopers used a PIT maneuver and a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle. Arza Arce was taken into custody without further incident.

He faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment and felony fleeing or attempting to elude police. Police said he is also charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. DUI charges are pending the results of toxicology testing.

Arza Arce is currently being held at the Blair County Prison. The incident remains under investigation.
