One person arrested following police chase in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A 20-year-old Williamston man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and crashing his car during a chase on September 13.

According to warrants, Jallel Kinch drove away from Winterville police on Reedy Branch Road while officers were conducting a check at a station.

Authorities said Kinch was speeding about 15 mph over the limit and driving recklessly. After crashing his vehicle, Kinch reportedly attempted to flee on foot. Warrants state he had a black Palmetto State Armory handgun in his possession.

Kinch was arrested and charged with felony fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, resisting a public officer, carrying a concealed firearm, and simple possession of a controlled substance.

He remains in the Pitt County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 15 at the Pitt County Courthouse.
